Lachen is situated at a height of about 8500ft and is considered to be one of the picturesque villages in Sikkim. The place is popular for its lakes and monasteries. Gurudongmar Lake which is about 67kms away from Lachen is a must-visit if you are visiting this place.

Yumthang Valley

How to Reach North Sikkim

The nearest major railway station is the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) station which is about 135kms away from Gangtok. You can avail taxi or bus services to reach Gangtok and from then book a taxi to come to North Sikkim.

If you are coming airways, then either land at Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri or at Pakyong Airport in Sikkim. From there on, book a taxi that will lead you to North Sikkim.
